The VIVA Railings curved glass smoke curtain (SBS) comes in various design options, each of them designed to give an inconspicuous smoke barrier between slab openings, level changes or divisions of areas. Today’s fire codes require smoke curtains to building areas within manageable levels, in the event of smoke. This, in turn, allows the most optimum design of smoke alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems. VIVA Railings Smoke Curtain is featured at Saint Edwards State University in Austin, Texas.
Part of our design with the curved glass of the VIEW™ modular railing system installed in the central stairwell required us to fabricate a curved smoke baffle system that wrapped around the entirety of each floor. VIVA Railings SBS-1 fit right along the base of each floor and kept the same minimalistic button appearance with the small mounting clamps along the edge.
