Illuminated Stair Railing Options
Warm or Bright Light
Warm lighting has yellow undertones that create a more soothing environment. This light color can be used indoors to create a soft glow that gently illuminates the walking surface. It can also be used in exterior applications where the goal is to create a calm space.
Bright lighting, also known as cool lighting, has brighter blue tones that can make people feel more energized and excited. It also creates a brighter space for walking if those using it will need more illumination.
Clear or Diffused Lens
Our LEDs can come with a clear or diffused lens. A clear lens allows the full brightness of the LED to shine through, to create a brightly lit surface. A diffused lens creates a softer glow that spreads out and can be seen from any angle.
Symmetrical or Asymmetrical
The orientation of the LED lights can affect how the light hits the walking surface. Both the iRAIL™ Pod and iRAIL™ Linear systems offer lights in a symmetrical orientation that shines directly from the railing to the surface. The lighting can also be oriented asymmetrically — at a 30-degree angle for linear lighting and a 22-degree angle for pod lighting. This allows the light to shine outward, illuminating more of the walking surface.
iRAIL™ LED Linear Illuminated Railing System
The iRAIL™ Linear System uses an ADA compliant roll-formed slotted rail that is 1.5” in diameter. It creates a stable gripping surface with the added safety feature of LED light embedded in the railing. Our specially designed LED can run the full length of any rail run, to provide the ultimate cohesive design.

This system can also be placed in posts for vertical illumination. The cluster of high intensity LED lights that is housed in each pod creates the ideal lighting for both indoor and outdoor applications.
