SMOKE BAFFLE SYSTEM - SBS™

University of Mary Hardin Baylor

General Contractor: Bartlett Cocke General Contractors Austin | Architect: GSC Architects, Austin

ABOUT THE NON-COMBUSTIBLE GLASS CURTAIN | SBS

The Non-Combustible Glass Curtain (Smoke Baffle System) by VIVA Railings comes in various design options, each of them designed to give an inconspicuous smoke barrier between slab openings, level changes or divisions of areas. Today’s fire codes require smoke curtains to building areas within manageable levels, in the event of smoke. This, in turn, allows optimum design options for smoke alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems.  The SBS is perfect for our all glass railing systems such as VIEW™ or SHOE™ which carry a similar all-glass appearance.

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton Texas is one of the oldest operating colleges in the state and carries a student-teacher ratio of only 19:1.  UMHB strives to be the college of choice in the Southwest for current students and future students as well.  We upgraded the Nursing Education Center with our CIRCA™ cable line and our smoke baffle system. (SBS)  With the help of Barlett & Cocke and GSC Architects, the new educational building is the perfect place for doctors to be.
